Tile flooring revamp
Karndean Designflooring is relaunching its Knight Tile flooring with new design and installation options. In addition to the standard gluedown layout, Knight Tile products are now available in rigid core formats, recommended for settings that require faster installation and enhanced acoustics, according to the manufacturer. The rigid core stone designs also include a painted bevel edge for further ease of installation.
The new offers a choice of 14 wood looks and 10 stone looks in standardized sizes, with new designs based on concrete, Carrara marble, Northern European oak and reclaimed oak. Two designs, pale and mid limed oak, are also available in a chevron plank format, pictured above.
Pump up the volume
At 14 inches wide, ThermaSol’s HydroVive 14 is a slightly smaller edition of the existing 18-inch HydroVive smart showerhead.
The HydroVive 14 has 120 neoprene jets operating between 40-80 PSI and 1.8 gallons per minute. Both brass showerheads offer a clean, modern look and incorporate a ceiling-mounted light and sound system. When combined with ThermaSol’s Smart Shower Valve and ThermaTouch interface, users can customize lighting color and sound settings.
The entire system is waterproof and steam proof, and comes in a choice of 15 finishes, with custom colors on request.
Mix and match
The Midea EVOX multi-zone heat pump system, new to the U.S. market, supports any combination of ducted and ductless zone configurations, with up to five zones connected to each inverted heat pump. The system is designed for compatibility with existing systems, including central ducted equipment and gas furnaces.
The pumps are available in a range of capacities between 1.5 and 5 tons, up to 24 SEER and 11.5 HSPF. They can operate at 100% capacity at up to -4 degrees Fahrenheit, and may be remotely controlled using the Midea Air App.
The manufacturer recommends the EVOX system either in new home installations or to replace older central systems in any climate.
Design generation
TestFit AI building configurator software uses a generative design algorithm to serve two purposes for developers: creating a 3D prototype based on building plans, and assessing project viability from both a design and financial standpoint.
The software is designed for use with commodity real estate, including multifamily housing, parking structures and light industrial buildings. Users can input parameters such as unit size and required parking, from which TestFit will generate building models that users can adjust to their design and financial preferences.
The company recently announced $20 million in Series A funding to continue developing and improving its software.
