A durable solar shingle
The Solstice solar roofing line by CertainTeed includes two new products: the Solstice Shingle and the Solstice Panel.
The Solstice Panel is a more traditional rooftop solar panel, installed above existing shingles. The Solstice Shingle resembles an asphalt shingle roofing panel, and is designed to integrate with new or existing asphalt shingle roof systems. The product is hail impact rated and performs under diffused light and shade, allowing for consistent energy production throughout the day. It can be installed by a roofing contractor with assistance from an electrician.
Return of the penny round
With its new Stone Mosaics Penny Rounds, Island Stone aims to apply a more modern design flair to a classic round tile shape, according to a press release. The mesh-back mosaic sheets feature 3/4-inch tiles assembled in an offset pattern, available in 11 1/4-inch-by-12-inch sizes.
The Penny Round tile is available in three color patterns: Nebula, a heavily veined pattern that ranges from light to dark gray; Tempest, a dark charcoal and black stone; and Carrara, based on white carrara marble. The tiles are suitable for interior and exterior application on walls and floors.
Contemporary bath accessories
Stone Forest has expanded its Elemental series — a modular bath vanity and accessory concept that allows specifiers to create custom configurations of sinks, wood drawers and stone, steel or wood shelving — with Elemental Facet, which combines the existing series with a framework of forged brass fittings, according to a press release shared with Multifamily Dive.
Inspired by the look of ancient Greek architecture, the fittings include knurled details and fluted, column-like grips. They are available in four finishes — aged brass, polished nickel, graphite or matte black — and may be specified for vanities, storage, accessories, mirrors and tee sconces.
Living large
The Celect 11-inch board and batten profile is the newest addition to Westlake Royal Building Products’s Celect Cellular Composite Siding Line, designed specifically for larger buildings. The vertical pattern is made to create visual interest around walls, gables and bumpouts, according to a press release.
The new profile pieces measure 10 feet long, with a 9-inch board and a 2-inch batten strip. They are available in all 15 of the Celect series colors, as well as the Celect Canvas ready-to-paint option. The boards are coated for UV protection, have a wind resistance of up to 210 mph and resist dirt, seasonal staining and insects, according to the manufacturer.
