With some finishing touches left to complete on the interior and exterior, The Flats at Jenkintown, a 104-unit property developed and operated by The Galman Group, opened for leasing and move-ins last month in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. The Flats is the second new apartment property The Galman Group has developed in its hometown, joining The Plaza Apartments as a next-door neighbor.
The building broke ground in November 2021, and the developer expects it to be fully leased by the fall. The mid-rise property incorporates a white and heather gray exterior color scheme with a variety of material textures and staggered exterior volumes, allowing space for balconies.
“We are thrilled to bring even more diverse offerings to the housing inventory of our hometown of Jenkintown,” said Brian Paule, president of The Galman Group, in a press release shared with Multifamily Dive. “We are striking when the iron is hot — the suburban Philadelphia counties are experiencing one of the most competitive rental markets in the country, and Jenkintown was recently named one of the best places to live in Pennsylvania [by Pittsburgh-based locality rater Niche.]”
With a population of 4,400, Jenkintown is located about 10 miles north of the Philadelphia city center. The Flats at Jenkintown is situated inside The Pavilion Town Center development, with retail offerings including restaurants, grocery stores, shopping and medical services. The property is located next to Philadelphia’s Route 611 and within a 15-minute walk of the Jenkintown-Wyncote SEPTA regional rail station.
Units range from studios to one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as two-bedroom townhomes, each outfitted with luxury finishes, according to the release. Amenities at the property include two dog parks, a gaming room, a conference room, a fitness center and yoga studio and a resident lounge with a demonstration kitchen. Covered parking and electric vehicle charging stations are also located on site.
The Galman Group owns and manages over 10,000 apartment and condominium units across Philadelphia, southeastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware. The Pavilion Town Center is among its commercial holdings.
“Our goal is to create a centralized and convenient location for residents,” Paule added, “not only of The Flats but for those in Jenkintown and Abington at large to enjoy.”
