Safety and compliance

Alfred’s Interconnect Kit allows multifamily and rental property owners to convert the smart lock manufacturer’s existing products into code-compliant locks, allowing for their use in apartment buildings, according to a press release shared with Multifamily Dive. The kit enables single-motion egress for retrofits and for newly installed locks.
It offers multiple lever options and finishes that match the existing lock, and is compatible with PIN codes, smartphone access and physical keys.
Shower combo

The Grab Bar with Adjustable Handshower by California Faucets combines the two shower fixtures into a single unit, creating a seamless look and saving on space and installation needs. The showerhead can be adjusted along the length of the grab bar or disconnected for hand use, and the grab bar provides stability in the shower, defending against slip-and-fall accidents.
The fixture is available in a variety of design styles and over 25 finishes, including polished chrome, burnished brass and graphite.
New York, New York

Urban planning firm Simplex 3D, in partnership with First American Title Insurance Co., has entered the U.S. market with a data-rich 3D model of New York City inside a workspace platform for developers, architects, urban planners and other professionals looking for opportunities in the city.
The model, available in private instances for each client, features property, financial and other geographic data from across the NYC area, as well as tools for stakeholders to explore, plan and collaborate within the model. Users can make accurate engineering measurements, import architectural models and ascertain shadows and window views in the present and future.
Stone-inspired porcelain

The Sociale porcelain tile series by Crossville includes six natural stone patterns designed for indoor and outdoor use, according to a press release shared with Multifamily Dive. The product features a smooth, high-traction finish and digitally printed stone patterns, including Zecevo marble, Cristallo quartzite and Augustus Gray marble.
The tiles are manufactured in the U.S. with natural raw materials, and are available in a variety of sizes and trim options, as well as mosaic designs. They are scratch-, stain- and heat-resistant, non-porous and require no sealing when installed.
Acoustics in style

The Nest Baffle by FilzFelt is a series of hanging wool felt acoustic baffles that both provide sound damping and create visual interest overhead in large open spaces, according to a press release shared with Multifamily Dive.
The baffles offer a noise reduction coefficient of 0.70, according to the manufacturer. They are available in a choice of three designs — half round, quarter round and linear — as well as 12 configurations, 95 fabric colors and custom heights and layouts. Each one connects to the ceiling with two to three sliding attachment points.
